7 Years and Beyond Senior pets should be examined every 6 months for optimal wellness. Pets age much faster than we do and the changes that happen with them can come on very quickly. Keauhou Veterinary Hospital recommends having your pet screened annually with a senior screen. This includes a fecal test, urine and blood test, and heartworm test.
If your pet is on medications for arthritis or other chronic illnesses, sometimes these medications can have an effect on their organ functions. They will need to come in for regular bloodwork to make sure their organ function is staying within normal ranges.
As always please allow 24 hours for all prescription refills. This gives our staff the time to review your pet’s records to make sure we can safely refill their prescriptions.
We know many people want to use online pharmacies. We do not participate with these entities. However, if you wish to use one of these companies, we will write you a prescription that your can pickup and fax or mail directly to the company yourself. These companies are not always licensed in the states that they are selling in, nor do they receive some of the products through legal channels. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that the medications you receive from these companies is the correct or proper medication. Please understand that by using these companies you are unable to receive support or compensation from the manufactures if something should go wrong. When you purchase your products directly from your veterinary office they are able to track your medications, should there be any recalls or adverse effects reported.
